Due to the interest in hockey that was generated in California when the Los Angeles Kings signed Wayne Gretzky in 1988, the city of San Jose began negotiating with the league about an expansion team in the Californian city. In 1991, San Jose got its wish and hockey fans in the area began purchasing Sharks hockey tickets for upcoming games. Since the team came into the league, fans with Sharks tickets have seen more and more success as times goes on. The San Jose Sharks have made appearances in the playoffs eight times since 1991 through 2004. Fans with Sharks tickets first saw their team in a playoff game in 1994. In the span of seasons from 1998 through 2004, holders of Sharks tickets saw the Sharks advance into the NHL postseason in every season. Their most successful season to date, the 2003-04 hockey season, came under new head coach Ron Wilson. With Coach Wilson at the helm, the Sharks and all of their fans with Sharks hockey tickets went further into the playoffs than ever before in 2004. After watching the team finish the regular season with a franchise-best 104 points, holders of San Jose Sharks tickets followed the team into their first ever conference finals series. Although fans with Sharks tickets were disappointed by their game six loss, the season cemented Ron Wilson as the leader of Sharks. For his efforts during the season, Wilson not only received praise from the fans with Sharks hockey tickets, but he also finished runner-up for the Jack Adams Trophy and was named “Best Coach” by The Hockey News. Since 1993, holders of San Jose Sharks tickets have called the Hewlett-Packard Bell Pavilion their home. After a brief, two-year stay at the Cow Palace, the Sharks moved on to their new, state-of-the-art arena located right in the heart of downtown San Jose. For every home game, nearly 17,500 fans with Sharks tickets come to HP Pavilion to cheer their Sharks on to victory. It's never too early to purchase Sharks tickets for the 2007 season.
