Joining the National Hockey League in 1993 as an expansion team, the Florida Panthers were able to experience early success that is usually not characteristic of expansion teams. Although fans with Panthers tickets have seen the team experience its share of trouble, they have also seen the Panthers reach the pinnacle of professional hockey within the first few years of its existence.
