Two major league football teams carry the New York name, but just as with Giants fans, holders of New York Jets tickets do not attend home games in the state of New York as of 2005. Giants fans and fans with Jets football tickets attend home games in New Jersey at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford. Fans expect Jets tickets for home games will finally be back in New York when a planned new stadium is built. However, as of 2006 fans purchasing New York Jets Tickets hold their breath as the Jets organization and Cablevision Systems Corp appear set to duke controversial issues about the proposed stadium in court. The Jets contend Cablevision's actions, among other things, make it more expensive for Jets fans to buy Jets tickets. Sales of Jets football tickets began in 1963 when the team originally named the Titans was renamed to depict Shea Stadium (where the Jets played at the time) between the two New York airports. In 1965 fans with Jets tickets met rookie Joe Namath. Fans purchasing New York Jets tickets during the Namath era will always associate him with the Jets. Fans that buy Jets football tickets adored quarterback Namath as he led the team to the 1968 AFL championship, followed up by a win at Super Bowl III. A repeat as AFL Eastern Division champions in 1969 increased sales of Jets tickets. In 1981 the Jets wowed both fans with Jets football tickets and opponents with a strong defensive line which became known as the “New York Sack Defense” and the team led the NFL in sacks. The 1990s found fans with Jets tickets watching a frustrated team; a bright moment was the winning of the Eastern Division title. Last year the Jets finished last in the AFC East winning only four games. While the Jets lost to the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2007 playoffs, they have high hopes for this season. Buy Jets tickest today from MTC tickets, your customer first broker.
