Since 1930, fans with Florida football tickets have gone to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field. First referred to as “The Swamp” by former head coach Steve Spurrier, fans with Florida Gators football tickets have now adopted the nickname. Fans that purchased Florida football tickets during the 1990s were almost guaranteed a win at the Swamp, as the Gators boasted the fourth best home record in college football since 1990, going 76-10-0 with a winning percentage of over 88. In fact, in the stretch of home games between October 29, 1994 and September 18, 1999, fans with Florida tickets did not witness even one home loss. Now, the Swamp opens its doors for every home game to more than 88,500 fans with Florida Gators football tickets. While at the stadium, fans with Florida football tickets participate in traditional cheers and songs to inspire their Gators to victory. Leading the fans with Florida tickets in such songs is the Pride of the Sunshine Marching Band. The Band plays constantly throughout the game, encouraging fans with Florida football tickets to sing along with such songs as “We Are the Boys from Old Florida” and “Go Gators!” Leading the team onto the field beginning in the 2005 season is new Head Coach Urban Meyer. Fans with Florida Gators football tickets hope that the twenty-first head coach in University of Florida football history will bring the same type of success to the Gators that he has brought to Utah in the past two seasons. The two-time national Coach of the Year led Utah to two consecutive Midwestern Conference titles in 2003 and 2004, and he led the team to a victory in the Fiesta Bowl in 2004 after a 12-0 season. With the success Urban Meyer brings to the team, along with the rich tradition of success at Florida, fans with Florida football tickets hope that this could be the year they get back to the national championship.
