One of the oldest teams in college football history, fans have been buying California Golden Bears football tickets for over one hundred years. In the more than 115 years of football, fans with California football tickets have seen their Golden Bears win two national championships: one in 1920, the other in 1937. Just after the win of their first national championships, the Bears got a new venue where they have sold California football tickets since. Originally built in 1923 in honor of the WWI participants who lost their lives, Memorial Stadium has since become a home to fans with California Golden Bears football tickets. Located right in the middle of Strawberry Canyon, Memorial Stadium offers fans with California football tickets some of the best scenery in the country. Fans with California tickets see the pine trees of Berkeley Hills to the east and the picaresque skyline of San Francisco and the bay to the west. Although the original plans for the stadium called for a capacity that would hold 60,000 fans with California Golden Bears football tickets, they were modified in favor of a larger capacity that would support up to 80,000 fans with California football tickets. Through renovations over the years, the capacity has decreased slightly, as the current configuration of the stadium supports just over 73,000 fans with California tickets. Those 73,000 fans with California football tickets and Golden Bear fans all across the country look to head coach Jeff Tedford to lead the team to victory. In the eyes of these fans with California football tickets, the coach has done well so far. He has won more games in his first two seasons than any other California football coach had in more than fifty years. Tedford has also gained acclaim from those outside the base of fans that purchase California football tickets, as he was named the PAC-10 Coach of the Year in 2002.
