One of the oldest teams in the NBA today, the Atlanta Hawks began in 1949 as the Tri-Cities Blackhawks. Following periods of time in Milwaukee and St. Louis, where the team won its only NBA championship in 1958, the Hawks moved in 1968 to their present home in Atlanta, Georgia.
