In 1977 Seattle got their first baseball team, the Seattle Mariners. Mariners tickets provided entrance to the famed Seattle Kingdome, built in part to attract major league teams. That year 1,338,511 fans bought Mariners baseball tickets. However, the 1970s and 1980s saw declining sales for Seattle Mariners tickets as the Mariners played most of these years in the bottom of their league. In 1983 only 813,000 Mariners tickets were sold. Serving its purpose for over 20 years and possibly becoming a danger, Seattle engineers imploded the Kingdome in a dramatic scene on March 26, 2000. In 1999 home game Seattle Mariners tickets gave entrance to the Mariners new home, Safeco Field. Fortunately the Mariners picked up their game starting in the late 1980s. By 1989 the Mariners acquired superstar Ken Griffey, Jr. and touch pitcher, Randy Johnson. Fans fell in love with Griffey and his ability to effortlessly slam pitches out of the ballpark. Johnson was just what the Mariner pitching staff needed. 1990 saw the Mariners make history when Ken Griffey, Jr. and Ken Griffey, Sr. became the first father and son team to take the field together, further delighting holders of Mariners baseball tickets. In the 1990s and fans came in droves to purchase Seattle Mariners tickets; and by 1999, 2,915,908 fans bought Mariners tickets during the season. The Mariners blossomed for the most part in the 1990s with a few slow seasons. In 1995 fans purchased 1,643,203 Mariners baseball tickets; the team brought home an American League West title, also winning a division series. Mariners' best season so far, 2001 caused a giant jump in sales of Mariners tickets. Over 3 million tickets were sold. In 2002, 3.5 million fans bought Seattle Mariners tickets. This year, the Mariners find themselves in last place in the AL West but they are confident. Being in last place isn't so bad when you are only a few games back from first place in a division where no team has truly stood apart from the rest. Anything can happen in this year's AL West division race, so don't miss a minute of the action and purchase Mariners tickets from MTC Tickets, your customer first broker.
