The Indians acquired their team name in honor of Louis Sockalexis, the first Native American to play professional baseball. Winners of the AL Pennant in 1920, 1948, 1954, 1995, 1997, the Indians also won the World Series in 1920 and 1948. Cy Young, one of the best pitchers to ever live, carried favor with fans purchasing Indians tickets during his time with the team. The 1954 season featured Indians strong pitching staff of Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, Early Wynn, Mike Garcia, and Art Houtteman, a 111 to 43 win-loss record, a league pennant win and finally a trip to the World Series. However, the Giants won the memorable World Series and captured history with an over-the-head catch of Vic Wertz's fly ball by Giants Willie Mays. Having Indians baseball tickets in 1954 must have been magical. Purchase Cleveland Indians tickets for home games and enjoy Jacobs Field on Lake Erie. The 1994 move to their new stadium rejuvenated the Indians and saw previously dismal Indian tickets sales jump dramatically. Indians baseballs tickets flew out of the box office while the team won the division title for 5 consecutive years (1995-1999). The Indians greatest player title may be Napoleon Lajoie, others might choose Tris Speaker. Beloved by fans, Lajoie's held a batting average of .384 in 1910. Lajoie's rein at bat also was a rein for sales of Indians tickets. The same year Lajoie barely lost the batting title to Ty Cobb. Speaker carried an incredible lifetime batting average of .345, the best in history. Speaker was another player everyone with Indians baseball tickets wanted to see. This year, the Indians top the AL Central and plan on being around for October. So grab some Cleveland Indians tickets and treat the family to a wonderful day at the ballpark.
