![]() Widespread Panic began offering Widespread Panic tickets on college campuses in the early 80s. Their college peers loved the loose, neo-hippie jam band and quickly purchased Widespread Panic concert tickets when they were available. Touring became second nature to the group as the word of mouth from each tour offering Widespread Panic tickets increased their fan base. Their debut album, Space Wrangler, was released in 1988 by a minor label. In 1991 Space Wrangler was re-released on a major label. In between the two releases, Widespread Panic gained a lot of fans purchasing Widespread Panic concert tickets. The 1992 and 1993 H.O.R.D.E. tours also brought Widespread Panic a lot of new fans. During those years, Widespread Panic released Everyday (1993) and Ain’t Life Grand (1994) which were both well received by fans purchasing Widespread Panic tickets. The 2001 tour offering Widespread Panic concert tickets brought sorrow as lead guitarist and founder Michael Houser left the tour due to pancreatic cancer; fans with Widespread Panic tickets mourned his death a month later. George McConnel filled in for Houser and became a permanent member of the group after McConnel’s death. It was McConnel’s expressed wish that the group continue. In 1998 Widespread Panic started album release parties in their home town of Athens, GA. Fans purchasing Widespread Panic concert tickets were given a free CD. Approximately 100,000 fans purchased Widespread Panic tickets and converged on the town! The group released Ball in 2003 and Don't Tell the Band in 2004. 2005’s offering of Live at Myrtle Beach is the group’s performance before fans holding Widespread Panic concert tickets during the Ball concert in Myrtle Beach, SC.
