 Forming in 1993 in high school Papa Roach didn’t get to sell Papa Roach concert tickets for their first performance, a high school talent show. However, by 1994 they released their first CD, Potatoes For Christmas. In 1997 Old Friends From Young Years brought them the notoriety they needed to begin selling out Papa Roach tickets for performances before 300 to 700 fans. The word and their music spread across college campuses and throughout their home state of California and the demand for Papa Roach concert tickets continued to grow. The group toured California, sometimes playing as many as 14 performances each month offering Papa Roach tickets. Papa Roach released 5 Tracks Deep in 1998 and Let 'Em Know in 1999, again on independent labels. Styling their music as a mixture of hip-hop, groove-funk, and hardcore, Papa Roach started holding CD release performances; 700 fans with Papa Roach concert tickets attended the Vacaville CD release show. Soon Papa Roach was well known in the Southern California music scene and began selling Papa Roach concert tickets at such well known venues as the Troubador in Hollywood, and Soma in San Diego. In 2004 Papa Roach released Getting Away With Murder and announced plans to play across the country, offering Papa Roach tickets in small towns.
