![]() Modest Mouse hails from Issaquah, a suburb of the greater Seattle, WA area. Beginning in 1993 the trio started as an Independent rock group, released their first self-titled single in 1994 followed by two full length LPs in 1996. Purchased of Modest Mouse tickets came mostly from the Independent underground. The third, The Lonesome Crowded West, released in 1997 started a bidding war by major record labels as they realized the potential from sales of Modest Mouse concert tickets. Modest Mouse signed with Sony, much to the surprise of the Independent music world. The 2000 release of The Moon & Antarctica came with a story that the band eventually revealed to fans purchasing Modest Mouse concert tickets. Supposedly the songs on this album were actually originally written by Edgar Graham, an unbalanced man who rather than purchase Modest Mouse tickets, had entered by crashing through a second story window back stage. He provided cryptic, sometimes unintelligible lyrics which the band rewrote and put to music. Fans purchasing Modest Mouse concert tickets identified with the words that spoke of search for identity, search for self and origin and detailed isolation. Rather than being depressing, holders of Modest Mouse tickets heard the transformation and progress of a wanderer. Edgar Graham was said to eventually simply disappear. Sales of Modest Mouse concert tickets at this time in their history were, well…, modest! Modest Mouse’s 2002 release, Sad Sappy Sucker, was comprised of songs from a 1994 project along with new material. Sales of Modest Mouse tickets increased as the group became better known. In 2004 the group released Good News For People Who Love Bad News which has received good reviews from both the music critics and the more important purchasers of Modest Mouse concert tickets.
